Judge John L. Madison, In Memory 1947 - 2006

Judge John L. Madison was born May 5, 1947 in Jasper, Alabama. He earned his undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Biology at the University of Alabama in 1969. In 1976, he graduated from Cumberland School of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence, passed the bar and was admitted to practice in Alabama.

He was appointed District Judge in October, 1976, at the age of 29. He served in that capacity for 12 years, until being elected to the Circuit Court in 1988. Judge Madison then served as a Circuit Court Judge from January1989 until his retirement in April 2002. He was a member of the Alabama Bar Association and the Alabama Association of Circuit Judges. Judge Madison joined our law firm in 2002, after leaving the bench, and worked with us until his passing in 2006. He was a true friend, a valued collegue and is missed terribly.

He was married to the former Lynne Anthony and they have three sons, Bradley John Madison, Adam Kelly Madison and Eric Anthony Madison.
