James C. King, Senior Partner

James Coleman “Jimmy” King is the Senior member-owner of King, Wiley & Williams.  He attended the University of Alabama from 1969-1973 and recieved a B.S. in Biology. He then attended the University of Alabama School of Law from 1973-1976 and received hs J.D. Mr. King and Robert T. Wilson, Sr. founded Wilson & King, Attorneys, in 1978 and it continued on until 1995. Robert T. Wilson, Sr. started the predecessor firm in 1950.
 

Jimmy was born and raised in Walker County, one of six children. His father, John Coleman King was a UMWA coal miner as was his brother, Johnny H. King his sister Barbara King Blackburn and all of his sister's husbands. From this background emerged a passion for representing the working man as a lawyer. His background and knowledge of the coal mining industry was born of his experiences growing up in the Heart of Coal Country, in Northwest Alabama. He has dedicated his career to representing the interests of coal miners and working men and women everywhere. No other lawyer has poured more of their heart and soul into learning and understanding all phases of underground and surface mining activities and ancillary causes of action such as Workers' Compensation, Products Liability, Wrongful Death, Personal Injury and blasting damages to personal property.

Jimmy is a member of American Bar Association, The American Association for Justice, The Alabama Bar Association, The Walker County Bar Association and the Alabama Association For Justice.

Jimmy is married to Nicole Lollar King They have two daughters, MaKenzie Noelle King, and Hannah Kathryn King.
Tara Dyan King, is Jimmy's oldest daughter and Jaimie Ryan King, is his second child. Both Tara and Ryan live in Tuscaloosa with Jimmy's Grandchildren.
 

He began running marathons at the age of 45 and has completed seven marathons. After developing knee problems cycling became his sport. Jimmy biked from Jsper 330 miles to the Gulf of Mexico and Ft. Luuderdale to Key West.  Fishing plays a major role in stress relief as does boating, snow skiing, swimming and cooking. He also writes children's books and poetry.

Jimmy was a clinical laboratory and x-ray technologist while in high school and throughout his career at the University of Alabama.

Jimmy enjoys reading novels and poetry, and has recently started collecting first editions of his favorite authors.
 


King, Wiley & Williams is located in Jasper AL serves North AL and Central AL, including but not limited to Walker County, Jefferson County, Tuscaloosa County, and Birmingham. Serving individuals in the heart of "Coal Country."
